WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA

POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE

COVID 19 PANDEMIC

ALL SANCTIONED EVENTS POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH 31

As your partner in the boxing community, Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League in conjunction with USA Boxing is suspending all sanctioned events through March 31, 2020.

Our guiding principles in navigating this challenge have been to take all the necessary steps to minimize risk of the Corona Virus to our community. We know you have many questions and encourage you to visit UPMC.com/COVID19 for the latest updates from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding the spread of the virus and how you and your loved ones can stay healthy and safe.

OUR

MISSION

Promoting the prevention of juvenile crime and violence by building relationships among

KIDS, COPS & COMMUNITY through positive engagement.

WPAL offers youth year-round programs and special events that foster teamwork, enforce citizenship, and provide the opportunities to work with law enforcement officers and caring adult mentors.

The Golden Gloves is the name given to annual competitions for amateur boxing in the United States. It’s no surprise that Pittsburgh, and Western Pennsylvania produced some of the nation’s grittiest fighters over the past 100 years. Fighters from the area have made a name for themselves fighting on the national stage. Our boxers train year round to participate.

Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic Leagues's decades-old history is founded on the principle that the police and the communities they serve both benefit when they have positive and productive relationships with one another.  WPAL welcomes adults interesting in becoming a mentor and youth looking to participate in our program.
